Summer 2018 - The Tempest Island Stage Left's twentieth anniversary production "Shakespear

Twenty years ago ISL performed Shakespeare’s magical play about forgiveness as its opening production. With magic, spirits, love, treachery and forgiveness, this is Shakespeare’s last solo work and one that has delighted and inspired all audiences, no matter what their age or background. It speaks to what is best and worst in us all, but forgiveness and love are at its core.

Prospero is no ordinary man, and this no ordinary island. He is a magician, able to control the very elements and bend nature to his will. When a sail appears on the horizon, he reaches out across the ocean to the ship that carries the men who wronged him. Creating a vast magical storm he wrecks the ship and washes his

enemies up on the shore. When

they wake they find themselves lost

on a fantastical island where nothing

is as it seems.

PLEASE NOTE:

Since Island Stage Left offers all its performances free of charge, we do not sell tickets or take reservations (unless you are a member of the Star Circle), although donations are always appreciated and are essential to the longevity of the company.

Seating is on a first come, first served basis and arriving at least 15 minutes early is always a good idea especially for the indoor shows.

In the summer, our outdoor performances have chairs set up, and also space for you to bring your own chairs if you prefer, plus space for blankets and sleeping bags close to the stage.

The request to bring warm clothes and blankets is to keep you warm, as the temperature can drop 20 degrees on some summer nights.
We look forward to seeing you!
